Read the garment label first
The care label attached to the actual shirt is the final authority. Materials and print methods can vary, so follow that label whenever it differs from general advice. Check it before the first wash instead of waiting until a stain or shrinkage question appears.
Turn the shirt inside out
Washing a graphic tee inside out reduces direct rubbing between the printed surface and other garments. Close zippers, avoid rough hardware in the same load and separate items that can transfer lint or dye.
Use a gentle, cool wash
Cool water and a normal gentle detergent are a practical default for many printed cotton tees. Skip harsh bleach unless the garment label specifically permits it, and avoid pouring concentrated products directly onto the artwork.
Use lower heat when drying
High heat can be hard on cotton, color and printed surfaces. Air-drying is the gentlest option; when using a dryer, follow the care label and choose a lower setting when allowed. Reshape the shirt before it is completely dry if needed.
Store the artwork without stress
Fold graphic tees so the print is not sharply creased in the same place every time, or hang them on a supportive hanger. Keep long-term storage dry and away from direct sunlight. Small habits matter more than complicated products.
